Shri Gopal Jayshankar Prasad Pandey (Yogi Anand Ji/ Swami Ji)

Yogi Anand Ji  joined The Hindu Temple as Hindu Minister/Swami Ji in December 2012 to serve as the spiritual and religious leader. While the priests at the temple perform the ritualistic aspects of Hinduism, including the offerings and services to the deities, swamis offer guidance and interpretation on the fundamental principles of Hinduism as articulated in the central holy text of the Bhagwat Geeta and the other Hindu religious texts. Through these teachings, Hindu worshippers learn how to apply the core tenants of the Hindu faith to their everyday life. In addition to imparting knowledge of the Hindu texts, which prepares a Hindu worshipper’s intellect to attain enlightenment, swamis also share in their knowledge of Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation, all of which prepares the worshipper’s body and mind for spiritual development

Swami Ji has been educated in India to spread the knowledge of the Bhagwat Geeta, Yoga, Pranayam (breathing exercises) and Meditation. A child prodigy, Swami Ji had mastered Sanskrit (the sacred language of Hindu texts) as well as the Bhagwat Geeta by the tender age of 4.  By the age of 15, through self-study, Swami JI was also well versed in the more esoteric Hindu scriptures, including the Vedas, Upanishads, and Puranas.  He has been serving as a full-time swami since 2000.  To serve his spiritual mission of spreading knowledge of the Hindu scriptures, Swami Ji has traveled from his home country, India, to the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Mauritius, New Zealand, Fiji, Hong Kong and other countries across the globe.  In addition to his teachings, Swami Ji has founded the “Mangalaya Gita Vidyapeeth” estabilished in 1997 and is administered by Bhagwat Geeta Parivar Trust for youths through which he runs a free school for children in Ghazipur, India and distributes food, clothes, medicines, and supplies among the needy.  Hindu organizations across the globe seek the blessing of his spiritual discourses. Swami Ji was trained by well known Gurus such as Vidyanand Giri Ji Maharaj, Maharaj Vishnu Devanand Ji and Acharya JinChandar Suri Ji Maharaj. Swami Ji attained mastery of Yoga, Pranayam and Meditation from Kapil Muni Ji Maharaj in Rudra Prayag and Mangal Yoga, Founder, President, Universal Donor and Director at “Akhanda Yoga Dham Trust” in Rishikesh.
